My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the most profitable movie of all time earning a 6150% return on investment.
This movie made over $368.7 million worldwide, becoming one of the top romantic films of the 21st Century with just a 5 million dollar budget. It was even the fifth highest grossing film in 2002. I find this shocking.
wow is that so? i remember being forced to watch this money when i was a kid. i was like ugh oh no a boring grown up movie...but it was actually pretty funny. i guess they didnt invest so much money and thats what made it some much profitable.
Wow, now compare this to Avatar, costing close to $250 million, and grossing $3 billion. Imagine a 6000% profit margin on that; INSANE. Just puts it all into perspective.
That's weird. I guess in the end, the movies that are cheaper make more for this though. If I make a movie and spend ten bucks, it wouldn't have to make THAT much to beat this. Still impressive though.
While I am a bit surprised that this particular film holds such a title, I'm very glad to hear that a profit record like that is held by a decent movie, rather than some turd put forth by the James Camerons and Michael Bays of the world (yes, I absolutely put those two hacks on the same level)
this movie was huge, led to the main actress being in tons of other movies that all sucked. she's fallen off now fsho, but who cares when you have all that money.
Not sure what was that great about this movie to be honest. I seen it and it was alright, but it really wasn't that great of a movie.. Eh. Over hype I guess.

Guess you could call that a Big Fat Return on Investment.
Could have sworn that it was the Blair Witch Project
I´m considering goin to greece now, settle down, marry a nice girl, then lock her in the basement and force her to cook gyros for me.
Ridiculous, wish I could make some bank like that.
Saw the movie. But I really hated it tbh :/
Shame it was a shit movie then
I thought this movie was okay tbh. Watchable.
But seriously? People liked this movie that much??? =s

I thought the first Saw movie was one of the most profitable, being such a huge success and costing so little to make.
Haven't watched this one yet, i'm not really into romantic movies. But i think i'll give it a try
absurd.
just absurd.
I don't even know what to say to that.
I never even saw it, it seemed a little too lowbrow for my tastes, lol.
It can be funny one ! :) I will watch this tonight. Thanks!
I saw it, it was pretty funny, but had no idea it had so much return!
Now my kind of movie even though the crator has done some other great works.
This was a crap movie. The only thing I saw in its plot was one guy ruining his life on banging a greek ugly chick.
I really, really, really dislike this shit movie, and nowing that it actually made a profit... fffffffff!
it shocks me aswell, i was dissapointed by this movie

How can you not have seen it? I thought it was something they showed at schools and stuff.
I loved this movie when it came out, though it was going to be a boring chick flick, but i was greatly surprised
shocking indeed.
i didn't even enjoy it that much.
I think the movie deserves it. A true indie gem
That is insane. What about Paranormal Activity, the budget for that was 15 thousand I thought?
